Scan Overview

The Scan functionality extends the standard Business Central warehouse operations onto mobile handheld devices. This enhancement streamlines warehouse tasks and introduces advanced capabilities beyond the default offering.

Note

The SupplyPoint scan functionality requires two components.

1. Business Central Extensions - The relevant extensions must be installed and configuration completed to enable the scan functionality.
2. Scan Site Server - a dedicated web server (Either IIS or Azure Web App) is required to host the scan server system. This site connects to a single Business Central environment and a single company in that environment. It provides the user interface the operators see when the use a mobile scan device.

Any reference to Scan Server indicates web server hosting the mobile scan application.

Important

The documentation screenshots in this document may not always match exactly the screens seen in your own environment. The Scan system is very configurable and many options disappear if they are not enabled or work differently.
