Introduction
Plants in the context of this document refer to equipment, vehicle, building or structure that requires ad hoc repairs or recurring maintenance to keep it operational.
The MicroChannel Plant Maintenance Add-on is a versatile utility that enables users of Business Central to plan, budget and keep track of activities and cost associated with the maintenance of plants.
The Plant can be linked to a Fixed Asset. On the Fixed Asset the system keeps track of the acquisition cost, accumulated depreciation, book value, depreciation cost and maintenance cost. On the Plant the user can keep track of the upcoming maintenance including the budget cost and history of completed maintenance work orders. Together this information can be used to determine whether the machine is due for replacement from a financial point of view.
The user can set up work procedures. The work procedure determines what activities need to be done and when. These activities are captured in the work instruction that can be attached to the Work Procedure. The work procedure can also contain a budget for items (parts that are used), resources (man- or machine hours required) and/or G/L Accounts (expenses) required for the planned maintenance activity.
This user manual is divided into four sections as follows:
